At This Point in Time: The Birth of Fountain

The History

Where two or three are gathered together, the power of loving thought increases. The key to releasing this loving, healing power is the focal point of the community. If several individuals are concentrating their thoughts on their focal point for a few moments of every day, the accumulation of healing energy can spill out onto the surrounding area and beyond, if and when it is required, just like a fountain.

The first Fountain group, established in Brighton in 1981 by Colin Bloy, had as its focal point […] the Old Steine Fountain [the etymologic source].  Its purpose was to counteract the problems that Brighton was having with the weekend bikers, who invaded their beautiful seaside resort and left destruction in their wake.

Colin Bloy discovered, by dowsing before and after their meditations, that the energy lines (sometimes known as ley lines) near the fountain had increased the natural energy of the area. Within a short time the problems with the bikers lessened, and over the years completely disappeared. Naturally, the police thought that it was due to their efficient work, but the Fountaineers knew what really happened.

Since then many, many Fountain groups have sprung up, all over the world, associating together under the banner of Fountain International. All of this just goes to prove that we are all in this together, and if all of us contribute to the health of the planet, all of us will benefit.

The Human Spirit

Very seldom does one see a chart for a person (or group, in this case), whose sole (i.e. soul) purpose is SERVICE! Did you notice the ‘crowd’ of planets in the 6th House? All but Mars and Neptune are in the House of Service.

torquay-fountainTo all Fountaineers, I would say: You are warm and affectionate, and you enjoy being with people. You don’t like to be left out of the crowd for any reason, and you will work very hard to make sure that you are liked by people of all ages. Yet you are not retiring, in fact, you are quite strong willed and often the person in a group who makes things happen. It is just that you feel the need to be with others in order to express yourself. Your ability to see both sides makes you a very good peacemaker when other people are having an argument. You like peace and harmony in relationships. (Sun in Libra)

You are somewhat shy, so it is difficult for you to be out in the open in the centre of attention. You prefer to work quietly on the sidelines. You have high standards and want all your work to be as nearly perfect as possible. You need to be more self-confident and less self-critical. You are very concerned with long-range goals and more disciplined about staying with them than most people. (Sun in 6th)

Even while you were young, you wanted to do meaningful work that would continue to be important as you grew older. Your sense of discipline and your ability to work hard and long will stand you in good stead with others. Also you are tougher than most people and able to withstand pressure and hard times when others give up. (Sun Conjunct Saturn)

Well, that was nice, was it not? Give yourself a pat on the back! However, you must not get too carried away, as there is also a downside to this work.

You like life to be beautiful and prefer not to think about things that aren’t pleasant. You very much like to be with a group of friends so that you can talk and be friendly with everyone. But it is harder to be part of a crowd because most of the people are strangers. You enjoy a good time with music or dancing or just a good get-together. But when there is work to be done, you may find it difficult to get down to business. You may try to use sweet talk to get out of the work or to get someone else to do it. In fact you will use such tricks to get out of many difficult or unpleasant situations. (Moon in Libra)

It may be hard for you to work in a planned and disciplined way. If the work appeals to your imagination, you will work enthusiastically, but otherwise you may not be very thorough. Usually you prefer to work for others, because you would rather be directed by a stronger will. But in this regard you should try to be as self-sufficient as possible. (Moon in 6th)

You are emotionally restless and changeable. You don’t want to commit yourself today, because you know you may feel quite different tomorrow. (Moon Conjunct Mercury)

You are probably well liked, because your optimistic attitude warms people up. You can even make others feel good when they are depressed. You are quite a generous person who likes to help others and protect those who need it. And the only negative side of this aspect is that you probably prefer having fun to working, so it may be hard to settle down and do what has to be done. (Moon Conjunct Jupiter)

Your rich and vivid imagination allows you to see and understand things that no one has ever seen. But you need discipline to make anything real, even the products of your imagination. (Moon Sextile Neptune)

You have very deep feelings, but sometimes it is difficult for you to talk about them with others. You feel they would misunderstand what you say and probably think badly of you. When your emotions get in the way, it is difficult to see clearly what is happening. And your moods affect you so much that as they change, your personality changes accordingly. One day you are positive and cheerful, and another day, sad and gloomy. (Moon Conjunct Pluto)

You tend to put your own emotional needs and wants second to whatever you feel has to be done. It is very likely that while you were young you attracted people who were emotionally difficult to handle. This continued until you learned to show your emotional side as well as the surface personality that you allowed others to see. Only by accepting yourself completely were you able to overcome this conflict. (Moon Inconjunct Ascendant)

Your needs and feelings may conflict with what other people seem to expect of you. If reason tells you to go one way and emotions say the opposite, think about your choices carefully. Take your time ‘growing up’; you may take longer than others, because you have farther to go. (Moon Square Midheaven)

That was a real mouthful. Can you take any more?

You like to get to the bottom of every problem and are fascinated by mysteries and unanswered questions. To you, searching for answers is almost more interesting than the answers themselves. When you are emotionally upset, however, your thinking gets confused by your feelings, so try not to make decisions at those times. You must learn to be more open with people. Something about you may make others uneasy, giving them a feeling that you have some deep dark secret, which makes them fearful. You enjoy giving this impression, but it does hurt your relationships with others. To prevent this, you should try to build up a reputation for honesty. (Mercury in Scorpio)

You have a very orderly mind, and you like to learn techniques for doing various kinds of work. Your critical mind quickly figures out how any situation could be improved. However, be careful not to be so critical that you can see only the flaws. Use your critical ability to improve things, not tear them down. (Mercury in 6th)

You may be very stubborn about your own beliefs and try very hard to make others agree with you. You have very strong opinions, and you hate to have people challenge them, but if you can control this tendency to a reasonable degree, it can help you in teaching, public relations, selling or other work in which you mould the ideas of others. (Mercury Conjunct Pluto)

You are likely to have some problems, but not serious ones, in communicating with others. The problem is that people’s first impression of you may not fit in with what you say or your manner of thinking or speaking. People tend to hear what they expect to hear, and they may not listen to you as carefully as they should. So you will have to be as clear as possible and insist that others listen to what you are really saying. If others do not understand you, it is up to you to set them straight. (Mercury Inconjunct Ascendant)

You are quite restless and need to be mentally active all the time. Otherwise you get bored. Be careful not to say things that work against you. Your mouth  could be your own worst enemy unless you make sure of what you are saying before you speak. It is possible to make your point without offending others. (Mercury Square Midheaven)

So much for your mind, now: what about your attractions?

Your feelings about people are very intense; you either like them very much or not at all. As a result, you are likely to have a few very close friendships rather than lots of shallow ones. Friendships you form may well last all of your life. (Venus in Scorpio)

You feel that love is a kind of service, and the more you can do for someone you like, the better you feel about it. However, you may not find it easy to accept favours from your loved ones in return, because you are more comfortable in the role of giver. (Venus in 6th)

Your feelings are very intense, particularly in relationships. Your feelings are a mixture of love and hate,  which can come out as intense anger toward those you love the most, if you have any differences of opinion. However, if you release your anger in an out-and-out fight, you quickly get over it and go back to really liking the other person. (Venus Square Mars)

Although you are affectionate and enjoy being loved, you want to be free, emotionally and otherwise. You want to be with people who are exciting and stimulating, who can take you away from the normal daily routine. (Venus Conjunct Uranus)

An appeal to your sense of fairness brings out the best in you, and you will do anything to maintain these qualities. If you know that someone is relying on you, you work very hard to live up to that person’s expectations. On the other hand, you are sometimes quite touchy about your sense of dignity. If someone makes fun of you or says something sarcastic, you get very angry and feel that you have to prove your worth to them. (Mars in Leo)

Your home life is very important to you, and you spend a great deal of energy getting your personal surroundings exactly the way you want them. (Mars in 4th)

Your optimism and positive outlook on life make others feel better. Friends and neighbours are very important to you, and you get along well with them. (Mars Sextile Jupiter)

You may be a bit shy and reluctant to commit yourself or even assert yourself, but at heart you are an idealist who wants to do what is best for the world. You may not want anything for yourself. You may decide that personal advancement is a very unworthy motive. Be careful not to apply this standard to others, however, because most people are more interested in advancement than you are which may cause you to be disappointed in them. (Mars Trine Neptune)

So, what about your spiritual aspirations?

You will do best in life if you can keep a perfect balance between extremes. Don’t do anything to excess. Beauty is very important to you as an indication of order in the universe. Also, your relationships with others will be very important to your inner spiritual growth. You will discover more about yourself through the people you attract and your relationships with them than through any other means. With your highly developed sense of justice, you do not like to see anyone get the short end of the stick. And you are willing to defend other people’s rights, even if you are not personally involved. (Jupiter in Libra)

You are able to put off getting something you want at the moment in favour of a goal that is more distant and usually more meaningful in the long run. You try to understand the world and people through work and service to others. But you need to find work that is meaningful for you. Dull, repetitive and seemingly pointless tasks will turn you off very quickly. But if you know your duties are important, you will carry them out. (Jupiter in 6th)

Throughout your life you will make plans and try to organise your affairs with care and discipline. You do not want to go too far too fast, and you want to have a structure that will regulate your life and keep it moving forward in the best possible manner. (Jupiter Conjunct Saturn)

You are sensitive to the needs of others and willing to help those in need. You have very high ideals, one of which is making life better for others, even if you have to sacrifice something of your own. Even while you were young, you were interested in religious and spiritual ways of thinking. You need to feel that you are in tune with a higher, more universal being than yourself. (Jupiter Sextile Neptune)

You have a strong drive to achieve something of significance, and you want to have the power to make positive and creative changes in the world. (Jupiter Conjunct Pluto)
