The Canadian Political Spectrum

Political Parties 2019 Election

It’s a tough question, but somebody has to ask it: where are you on this chart?

And, before you answer, think about the implications of what ‘far right’ and ‘far left’ mean when we speak those terms.

Far Right

Fascism (think Nazism)

Far Left

Communism (think Russia and China)

Anyone in the middle is trying to walk a fine (democratic) line between these two extremes.

So: where do you stand?

(And try to be honest with yourself…)

Looking at the illustration, it’s easy to see that a Liberal person created it because it shows the Liberal party exactly in the middle of the spectrum, when, in fact, the party is slightly left of centre.
