Renaissance Man

Renaissance-man
Old-Fashioned, New-Fangled

Recently I sat back and thought of life…

Eventually I had to desist,

Not that there wasn’t enough to resist,

Although you wouldn’t know to ask my wife.

I am a multi-faceted person:

Someone who is at home with poetry,

Sentimental about a fallen tree

And yet as hard as nails about cursin’.

No, I cannot be sub-categorized.

Catch me with my right eye giving a wink

Even as I’m mad at those who don’t think:

Maybe old-fashioned, new-fangled – disguised.

At any rate, I’m me – just as I am:

Neither more nor less, a renaissance man.
