Sundown for Sedans?

Today, GM announced the ‘unallocation’ of four automotive plants in the US and one in Canada. Our in-house reaction was “Why do they always announce these things just before Christmas?” A CBS newscast tonight pointed out the obvious American perspective: GM announced this on the first day back to work from their Thanksgiving weekend holiday.

This announcement follows news that Ford was going out of the sedan business. Ford plans to concentrate on SUV’s and trucks.

GM wants to concentrate on electric and self-driving cars.
