Israel-Hamas War (November 7, 2023 – Present)

The title of this map is the “Lying Maps”. That’s according to the State of Israel. But that hasn’t prevented the world from deciding that Israel is attempting to obliterate Palestinians from the ancient country that Israel used to be. It’s called propaganda, and both sides of the equation use it to justify what they do (much in the same way that Russia and Ukraine do in their “special operations”).
However, in their attempt to eradicate Hamas from the Gaza Strip, Israel has decided that something has to be done, once and for all time, to rid themselves from the scourge of terrorist organizations. As long as there is a State of Israel, I suspect that these ‘terrorists’ will never go away.
Two things are being presented to us on the daily news cycles: Palestinians are being squeezed into a very small section of their former land; and children are being presented as suffering for the sins of their fathers (and mothers). This is another way of painting Israel into a corner: they are facing condemnation from the whole world, and the International Criminal Court is investigating ‘war crimes’ by them. Never mind that Hamas brought this on themselves and the residents of the Gaza Strip. It’s like poking a hornets’ nest and then condemning the hornets for the strings they inflict on their perceived threats.
One of the hardest things to achieve in such a situation is a sense of balance. We are intended by the MSM to pick a side and further divide our choices. But can our little selves make a difference? That’s the real question here. I watch the protests here in Canada and around the world, demanding an end to the conflict and a permanent ceasefire, and wonder how individual governments can ‘force’ a solution. It certainly seems futile. But then, the war in Vietnam ended when American (and other) protests kept up the pressure. Can it happen again? In my heart, I doubt it. Lightning doesn’t usually strike twice.
