Halfway Through, I Sensed the “Bullitt” Homage

Crime 101 (2026)

It’s been a long time since a film could hold my attention for its 140 minute running time. A rare gem, for sure. The title is misleading, though, implying that it’s a beginner’s class in how to commit a crime. In a way, it is a primer for the rest of us, but the main character, James Davis, this is something he’s done many times. In fact, the main detective trying to catch him realized that all his crimes were within a few blocks of freeway 101, hence the title.

In the simplest terms, everyone connected with Davis gets their just desserts. I won’t say what those are, here, but if you watch the YouTube video in the comments, you’ll see what I mean. A great homage..
