Closing a Border Doesn’t Stop the Spread of Disease.

President Trump decided to stop all flights to the United States from Europe, except from the UK. What he really did was restrict entry into the USA by foreign nationals. Americans can still fly home from Europe, but they’ll have to self-quarantine for 14 days.

If viewed from his long-time goal of wanting to stop foreigners from entering into the States, he finally got his wish. But in doing so, ‘normal’ people, not just immigrants and militant jihadists, will be kept from spending time and money there.

And all because of a pandemic…

The ‘shocking’ thing is that COVID-19 is no respecter of a person’s position in society, either. Prime Minister Trudeau’s wife Sophie came back from the UK and started to feel unwell. Yesterday she tested positive for the virus. Now Justin Trudeau has to self-isolate, too. I wonder how Trump would feel if Melania were sick. Would he get tested? No.

And yet, people around the President are self-isolating out of ‘an abundance of caution’.

Says it all, really.
