No One Can Serve Two Masters

Ellie Dreams Down Under decided to try to answer if Donald was the Antichrist by asking her cards the question. The result even surprised her, although in retrospect the solution was already known.

Here’s the full passage from Luke 16: 24.

No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

As luck would have it, we started watching 1923 last night. The episode where the Dutton family meets a street vendor touting the future of mankind with electricity and machinery to give people more leisure time seemed to epitomize exactly what Ellie’s tarot reading suggests.

Jesus addresses the present situation that we are all facing in this part of the Sermon on the Mount:

32 For the Gentiles strive after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 

33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all  these things will be added unto you. 

34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Today has enough trouble of its own.…
