No One is Supposed to be Above the Law

But the Courts Seem to be Bending Over Backwards for Trump

Are they afraid of looking prejudiced against him? Or are they trying to keep his appeal options few and far between? One last thought: are they afraid of his MAGA crew? Something is going on, for sure.

Today, the New York Appellate Court reduced the amount Trump needs to stump up to a paltry $175M. And they gave him an extra 10 days to find the funds. Admittedly, his fine hasn’t been reduced, and the interest is still accruing, for now. But the appeals process will drag this review until the early fall season.

And if he fails to get the judgment overturned, he’ll keep on appealing the case until it finally gets to the US Supreme Court, where he has a conservative majority, with some of them owing their positions to him. Gee whiz.

If it takes too long, Trump will have a chance(?) to become President again. Then he can make a lot of stuff go away, but not everything, which is why he is creating as many barriers to judgment as possible.
