Dick Van Dyke: 98 Years of Magic (2023)
We missed it the first time it was aired, last December. As a song and dance extravaganza, it was wonderful. For being a young 98-year-old, DVD was fully involved in the presentation of the show. At the end, he seemed to be overcome with emotion, but he didn’t cry on cue; he’s too much of a professional to do that. I also suspected at the beginning that “Mary Poppins” would dominate the show.
And who knew that Jason Alexander could sing and dance?
At any rate, there were lots of singing and lots of dancing, and quite a few looks back on DVD’s career. In the end, it was two hours of great entertainment, and love for the man. Bless you ,Dick Van Dyke, for filling our lives and our children’s lives with so much fun and laughter.
