Instinctively, I Knew What It Was

Venus: the Morning Star

On the long car journey to Orillia, yesterday morning, I saw a bright light in the sky, before the sun rose.

It was like a satellite, or, at best, an airplane, but it didn’t move, keeping to the east of our position. The the sun came up, and the light disappeared into the blue horizon. If we hadn’t being travelling before the dawn, we wouldn’t have even seen it. As Venus is sometimes known as the harbinger of the sun’s rise, I knew it was that planet.
