Deja Miller (September 18, 2022 – November 7, 2026)

She laid one egg too many. It got caught in the birth canal and caused her vent to become prolapsed. Susan managed to extract the egg, last Tuesday, but the writing was on the wall. Wednesday, w took her to a specialist vet hospital in Sudbury to see what they could do. In the end, we got drops for a painkiller and an antibiotic. They wanted to do X-rays, draw some blood and insert a chip to prevent any more urges to lay eggs, but we declined those procedures because Deja was so weak. They would have had to sedate her to do those things, and we knew that would kill her. Instead, we brought her back home and Susan tried to make her as comfortable as possible. We waited another four days for the end to come..
