I was reminded of this interactive computer program while discussing our first desk top computer (an Apricot) with my youngest daughter.
The exact point of the discussion was the place where most people get stuck. Rosanna said the choice that you are given is “take tea or no tea”.
All interactive games require input from the gamer. In this case, either choice will get you nowhere. The ‘correct’ response would be both.
How is it possible to choose both?
Well, that’s the lesson that Douglas Adams built into the program. Choice is divisive. Acceptance of both is holistic and inclusive. Our binary world thinks, ‘either this or that’. The spiritual world says, ‘why not both?’
Interesting lesson.
