Call 911, Stay and Help
In Canada, there’s been a change to the law, which I’d never heard about. It’s the “Good Samaritan” law which protects people who help others during an opioid crisis. In fact, I wouldn’t have known anything about it, if it hadn’t been for advertisements on the TV.
Today, when I began researching this law, I found that it is widely accepted in the United States and was originally intended to legally protect bystanders who go to the aid of an accident victim. The basis of the idea obviously comes from the Bible, which I have discussed previously.
I find it heartening that the Government is more interested in saving lives than in punishing people for possession of drugs. It shows me that the lawmakers’ hearts are in the right place.
