Cleopatra and Mark Antony alive today?

Jennifer Aniston and Russell Crowe?

It’s not as far-fetched as you might imagine. Cleopatra was Greek, and was not anything like Elizabeth Taylor. Antony was a Roman soldier, and a bit of a imbiber (à la Bacchus).

Taylor and Burton were in love, so the effect of their work on the screen was to bring that love story to life. But, in reality, Cleopatra and Antony were like chalk and cheese.

Aniston and Crowe would seem as unlikely a pairing as the original star-crossed lovers.

Need I say more?
