The Answer is 42.
We might not like our confinement to home, but it is allowing for a certain sense of irony. For years we have complained that the world is speeding up, that we don’t have enough time to catch our (collective) breath, and that we wanted to say, “Stop the world, I want to get off.”
I know, I know: not funny.
But have you ever considered that the Bible gave us a hint for how long it would take?
Daniel 7:25 is speaking specifically of the reign of the Antichrist, 42 months. Interesting…
Time = 12 months, times = 24 months, and half-a-time = 6 months.
But what if the time frame was 42 years, or 42 days? Do you see where I’m going with this? The lockdown for COVID-19 in Wuhan, China lasted 76 days (almost 11 weeks). That’s almost double the present amount of time that North America has been in (semi) lockdown. Whereas, Trump wanted the United States to be back open by yesterday, the reality is for a little while longer (say, the end of the month). He thinks it will be something he can engineer, just by his edict. Will this ‘faux pas’ end his reign?
On the other hand, if you mark our present state of affairs from 9-11, the prediction of a third world war in 2043 would be accurate. Who would have thought that Douglas Adams would be right? (By the way, he died on May 11th, 2001…)
