This image is so ingrained in our consciousness that we miss any intentional (or subliminal) symbols that might have been indicated. The scene of the attendants at the birth of Jesus might be totally mythical, but the mystic elements have finally revealed themselves.
Lamb
Jesus’ particular role as the sacrificial lamb for the redemption of Israel is symbolized with the lamb.
Camel
The Camel is an important symbol of strength, endurance and wisdom. In many cultures, the Camel is seen as a guardian spirit. The Bedouin people believe that the camel knows the way through the desert and will never lead them astray.

Cattle
Hathor (Chris Bledsoe’s “Lady in White”) is the goddess of fertility. Her time is Easter. She appears as a cow (or bull) in Egyptian mythology.
Donkey
Isis is the Egyptian goddess whose symbol is the donkey. When Jesus entered Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, he was riding on a donkey (and a foal of a donkey). This implies his destiny as ruler over humanity.
Hmm.
