I Can’t Remember Laughing So Hard, as Last Night

Peter Pan Goes Wrong (2016)

Christmas pantomime shows are all the rage in the UK. This one got filmed, which definitely sets it apart from other ones. It’s the filmed version that we watched on PBS, last night.

There are a couple of stand-outs in the cast: David Suchet as the Narrator, even does a small turn as Poirot; Henry Shields plays a triple role as Chris the Director, Mr. Darling and Captain Hook, using John Cleese’s Basil Fawlty as his model; and Nancy Zamit playing just about all the ‘other’ female roles with quick change strategies.

Of course, the audience were fully in on the fun, booing the villain, and shouting out things like, “No he’s not!” and “Look behind you!” In the end the Crocodile gets the girl.

It even got to Broadway, that’s how good this show is.

So, if you want a good laugh, catch this one the next time it comes around on your television set.
