On This Day in 1504

Michelangelo’s David is Unveiled (September 8, 1504 [OS])

It’s not often that one looks at the unveiling of a statue as its birth, since few statues take on a life of its own. However, with this one, I’m going to make an exception. Here’s his ‘birth’ chart.

I’ve chosen 9 am as the unveiling time, but it could have been anytime that day. As the day went on, the Moon would have drawn closer to the Sun’s position, so I suspect there was a solar eclipse that day.

There were no obvious inconjuncts, at least for that time of day. This may also have been the birth of the Italian Renaissance. That’s all I want to say on the matter. I just hope you’ve enjoyed this trip down memory lane.
