Butch Cassidy (April 13, 1866 – November 7, 1908)
So, there I was, minding my own business, when, wouldn’t you know it, a YouTube documentary shows up in my viewing feed. As a long-time fan of the film “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” (1969), I couldn’t resist, could I?
Butch’s birth details are scant, since so many years have gone by. Only one astrology site attempted his birth chart, setting the clock at noon. Instead of doing that, I rectified his chart, basing Saturn at the age he first got into trouble with the law, 14. Here’s that chart:

How’s that for revealing hidden aspects? Saturn is the focus for most of chart’s aspects, including one inconjunct linking Saturn with Neptune/South Node conjunct. That’s a hint he had done this role in a previous life, and may have been a legend in the making, even then. The other inconjunct links Jupiter and Uranus. I wonder what that means for him. Since these planets are both just at 0° of Aquarius and Cancer, respectively. The Moon is @ 0°, too, this time in Aries. That may be significant, especially when the end of his days arrive.

This timing is better documented, even though Butch’s identity wasn’t known at the time. The Moon, in Aries again, is in opposition to Mercury in Libra. The Ascendant is in the final degree of Gemini conjunct the North Node. Pluto is just 5° apart from them. That indicates that there really wasn’t any choice in the matter of his death. It wasn’t like the film ending, but that’s how legends are created.

Because we ‘know’ the time of death, I used the ‘fatal’ chart as the basis to compare with his natal chart. The ‘fatal’ inconjunct linking Jupiter with the Midheaven now demonstrates how the legend was born: The ‘fatal’ position of Jupiter is inconjunct to Butch’s natal Neptune. His natal Saturn is inconjunct to the ‘fatal’ Midheaven. The ‘fatal’ Sun is conjunct to his natal Saturn, too. It all fits together. You cannot make this stuff up.
Forty-two years is not a long life. But Butch Cassidy will always live forever in our memories.
