
Hai Karate After Shave
In the middle of a discussion about poetry with my youngest, I mentioned that Haiku means ‘cut’ in Japanese. Then this product came to mind.
Obviously, someone who designed that advertising campaign knew what the word meant. “Cut!”
In later years, I used to think that the one fending off advances was saying, “Santa Claus”.

Insincere Silence
The Summer’s cities/Now stink of sweltering smog/That smothers small sounds.
