It’s Not Called “Canada’s Garage” for Nothing

Canadian Tire

I’ve been busy for the last two days. I bought tires online on the weekend and then scheduled having them put on rims on Tuesday. I got the oil changed, all filters and a general checkup. It’s the checkup that brought me back today to have control arms, rotors and brake pads changed. All I need to do (tomorrow) is buy premixed coolant, for them to add to the engine, and have the wheels retorqued.

It’s been an expensive exercise, but well worth the peace-of-mind. The car hasn’t been to a Toyota service centre for about 18 months. Using my Canadian Tire credit card means that we also earned Canadian Tire cash, which we’ll use to buy an electric snow shovel, to keep our patio and front entrance clear this winter. Win-win, I say.

Next spring we’ll get new summer tires, since the ones we have now are eight years old. They’ve travelled over half the 119,000 kilometers we’ve racked up since 2018. Isn’t life grand?
