Embarrassment
Yesterday, Donald Trump delivered a speech to the United Nations General Assembly. In other words, to world leaders from everywhere else.
As is his wont, he boasted about how good his administration is, compared to every other American government before him.
The audience laughed.
He wasn’t expecting that. His face went red.
The World’s Laughing Stock
Over and over, Trump has told his supporters that America is the laughing stock of the rest of the world, and that he is the man to change that.
His audience usually cheers and claps.
But, in an Instant Karma sort of way, he is the very first American President to be laughed at by other nations.
What does that tell us? (rhetorical question…)
Conclusion
This is usually where I say something like, “Be careful what you say; it could come true.”
Trump has spent the last twenty months upsetting his friends and allies, and trash-talking his enemies. At no time in recorded US history has any American President lost the respect of everyone in the world. Until now.
How the mighty have fallen.
