On Parenting
This is proving to be a bit of a stretch, trying to locate the quote about how a hole in our luminosity occurs when we become parents. It haunts me, because I know when I read it, it made perfect sense.
The gist of the text is that fibers of awareness emanate from the gut area of our bodies. These are our link with the manifest world. But once we have a child, that connection is broken: the child then becomes our emissary instead. And a hole appears as a dark spot in the centre of our luminous ‘egg’.
This, then, is the result:
