We tend to think that natural views won’t change but trees grow, and human input builds on the land. Also, I realize the colours in the older picture have faded, but the clarity of modern photography still amazes me.

My Mom and I came to the Martyrs’ Shrine when I was about 10. The top photo was taken in 1980 or thereabouts. It’s that stretch of water at the top that makes me doubt if it’s the same view. However, the growth of trees in the lower photo could account for it not being visible now. Plus, Hwy 12 has most likely been changed/expanded in recent years. Thanks for commenting, Ann.

I’m presuming that body of water is the Wye Marsh.
