Charlie Watts (June 2, 1941 – August 24, 2021)

I got this book for Christmas. On my own, I probably wouldn’t have bought it for myself. Why? I’m not really a fan of the Rolling Stones, so reading about their drummer, Charlie Watts, wouldn’t occur to me.

The timing of Charlie’s birth chart is rectified to his marrying his wife at age 23. That places his Sun @ age 17 when he started being a professional drummer, and his Jupiter @ age 14 when he was bought his first drum kit. I think we are on fairly solid ground here. There are two inconjuncts which are time-critical because they relate to the Ascendant and the Midheaven. I will delineate them, anyway.

Saturn Inconjunct Ascendant

With this aspect you probably have a rather serious attitude toward life and other people. It may be quite difficult for you to simply go out and have a good time. You want to be serious and to spend all your time performing significant tasks. This attitude may have developed because you were discouraged from enjoying yourself when you were younger. You may have been made to feel that only work is important, that play serves no useful purpose.

You need to be encouraged to believe in yourself and to recognize your personal strength. You have to be helped to realize that you as an individual are worth a lot and that you need to get some satisfaction from life as much as the next person does.

Uranus Inconjunct Midheaven

You need to express your thoughts and feelings, but you often upset the people around you with your words. You seem to enjoy creating a stir every time you say something, but this can get you into quite a bit of trouble with parents, teachers and other authority figures. The underlying principle of this aspect is the need to balance your individual self-expression and manner of communicating with your need to learn and grow under the guidance of older people.

Certainly you will discover your own routes to what you want in life. Now you need to be given the confidence and encouragement to look for those routes on your own with total freedom.
