One Rotten Apple

We all know the rest of the saying:

My dream was quite intricate and lasted the whole night. Essentially, someone’s accounts were out by $4,000. and it was my task to find out why. In the end, the accumulated $2000. depreciation of one ‘rotten apple’ (literally) was posted as a debit (asset) instead of a credit (liability). I puzzled all night why this apple would even be listed on the books. But it wasn’t until the morning light dawned on me that this was a metaphor about the Republicans’ chaos in the House of Representatives as they try to elect a Speaker. Hmm.
