What Happens When You Try to Change the Past?

11.22.63 (2016)

This is “Back to the Future” for Baby Boomers. I watched the first episode on Amazon Prime Video. It was 90 minutes long. There are seven more to see. I won’t be watching them. I’ve seen enough.

Having already been through the “Timeless” series, I find that having the knowledge of what happens can be a decided disadvantage, especially when you’ve done the research, as I have. In this instance, the ‘favoured’ scenario that Lee Harvey Oswald was the lone shooter who killed JFK, doesn’t make this quite the revelation that “JFK” was. Also, I’m not of fan of Stephen King’s work. “11.22.63” shows, though, what happens when the past is changed (at least in theory). The result is unsatisfactory, and in this story, exactly what you don’t want. So, as a lesson, it serves its purpose well.

Exactly…
