What If They Had an Election, But Nobody Ran?

Joe Biden vs. Donald Trump

When performing a muscle test of who could be the President-elect in 2024, Cash Peters went through a short list of probable candidates. Almost all the people named didn’t pass the test. Only Gavin Newsom got a “yes”. That seemed impossible a week ago, but, as I’ve said previously, one month is a long time in politics, especially American politics.

A lot of people think Biden is too old for the job (and the MSM are pushing that opinion, relentlessly). But yesterday ago, Biden said:

“If Trump wasn’t running, I’m not sure I’d be running. But we cannot let him win.”

Biden later was asked to clarify his remarks when asked by reporters if he would still run for president if Trump was not running.

“I expect so but look, he is running and I have to run,” the president said.

When asked if he would drop out if Trump dropped out, Biden responded: “No, not now.”

The Hill

Now, to read the headlines, you’d think that Biden would automatically remove himself from the race if (and when) Trump wasn’t running, for whatever reason. “A-ha,” says everyone and his uncle, “here’s how we get new candidates to run for the 2024 election.” Whoa, not so fast, pundits. There are too many variables, one of which is the wish on Biden’s part to ‘finish the job.’

But, Ellie Dreams Down Under (at least I think it was her, but it might have been Cash Peters, instead) thinks that March, 2024 will see Biden stop his bid for re-election. Turns out that Ellie Adams and Brandy Burrow were the ones to speculate that March 6, 2024, might be a crunch date for Biden. Hmm.
