Here is the alternative version…
Birth
My mother loved me so much, I feel that she could have sung this song to me at birth (even though it wasn’t published by Bliss until 2006): “Starchild”.
Back in the Day
Gordon Lightfoot has been a part of my life, ever since I first heard him in concert in the 60’s. As a Canadian, “Song for a Winter’s Night” speaks to my soul.
Fight
“Child in Time” by Deep Purple epitomizes what I can imagine my father would have told me, if he’d been a part of my life.
Love
When Madonna’s video was first shown (1989), I was going through some very strong spiritual changes. Even now, “Like a Prayer” speaks for me.
Guilty Pleasure
I have so many guilty pleasures when it comes to music, I had difficulty in narrowing it down to one choice. Because Fleetwood Mac music took up so many of the intervening years, I decided to pick a Lindsey Buckingham composition: “Go Insane”.
Death
The Beatles figured strongly “In My Life”, so I think it fitting to make this my death video…
Reviewing this article, I can see that some of my entries could have been swapped: “Go Insane” for Fight, “Child in Time” for Love, and “Like a Prayer” for Guilty Pleasure. I also could have referenced “Losing My Mind” by Liza Minnelli (with the Pet Shop Boys) for my Guilty Pleasure. But, once you make your choice, stick with it.
