Today, after being reminded in my dreams that she must still be around, I found Jacqui on the internet. https://twitter.com/jbwritergirl Here is a poem I wrote to her in 1978.

Jacqui’s Sonnet

You came to visit us yesterday

Not realizing fully what God’s schemes

Involved; and never in your wildest dreams

Did you imagine what you’d come to say.

Susan said you two’d never found a way

To discuss anything but younger themes

Of boys, cars, clothes, and ev’rything that seems

Important to girls in the month of May.

But now I want to make you understand

I know there’s more to you than meets the eye:

More than beautiful hair or winsome tooth.

You’ve been sent back to lend a helping hand

To those who cannot see that they must die

Again to learn the Universal Truth.
