Not Reading the Apostles’ Creed
They say one picture is worth a thousand words. This one says about a billion.
His religion is supposedly Presbyterian, from his mother’s side. But he admits to not attending church because of his busy life. Melania is supposedly Roman Catholic. Both Presbyterians and Roman Catholics recite the Apostles’ Creed. It’s an essential statement of their faith in Jesus Christ.
Apostles Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
the Creator of heaven and earth,
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived of the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into hell.
The third day He arose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven
and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty,
from whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.
Amen.
Remember the Previous Clue?
Anyone who has ever gone to church would know that the right way to say it is “Second Corinthians”.
I know, I know: I’m a preacher’s kid, so this is second nature to me, but it made my ears prick up when Trump said that at the beginning of 2016.
“Holy Shit, Batman!”
Conclusion
If anyone in the future needs to look back at this point in Trump’s Presidency and wonder how it fell apart so quickly, they need only visit President George H W Bush’s funeral yesterday to witness the proof of a man who has contempt for everyone, including former Presidents and Christians everywhere.
