Reggie and Jughead will now be in a Coalition?!
The General Election of 2019 is now over. Trudeau’s Liberals lost some seats (mostly to the Bloc Québécois in Quebec), and now must form a minority government. Their ‘natural’ partner will be Jagmeet Singh’s New Democratic Party, but will it be an easy truce?
In the background are oil pipelines needed from Alberta to the West coast and all the way to the Eastern shores. The Liberals (on behalf of Canada and Canadians) bought the faltering Trans Mountain pipeline company to prevent it all from going ‘belly-up’. The NDP thought that was a dumb move. So they have promised not to force any pipelines through any provinces that do not want one (meaning Quebec and British Columbia). This will not be a quiet battle.
But the alternative, having the Conservatives in government again, is unthinkable. So compromise becomes the political order of the day.
