Black Lives Have Always Mattered

More Than a Smokescreen

I’m convinced that history ‘comes around again’ when the underlying causes of social unrest are not resolved, but only swept under the carpet.

The USA is under siege yet again, and during an election year. Billy Joel wrote “We Didn’t Start the Fire” as an anthem to the political unrest over the years. Oh, my friends, I’m afraid we did…

I’ve gone back to Martin Luther King Jr’s assassination to see what energies were involved.

So, it becomes obvious that the inconjuncts between Mercury/Venus and Jupiter speak of trying to bring “justice” for the “hearts and minds” of the American people. Those hearts and minds are opposed by Uranus and Pluto. The Libra Ascendant is also opposed to the Sun/Saturn conjunct in Aries. This was always going to be volatile.

It didn’t work, then, and it’s not working now.

George Floyd

So, there are echoes from 1968. But now there is a Yod (Finger of God) pointing at Mercury, with inconjuncts formed by aspects to the Ascendant in Scorpio and the Pluto/Jupiter conjunction in Capricorn. (Note, too, that Mercury is again conjunct to Venus, this time in Gemini.) And now Mars and Uranus are opposite to the Midheaven. Mars is the new element. That’s the “murder” part.

Now let’s look at the combined charts:

There are lots of inconjuncts. This implies a culmination of historical energies.

During the riots that followed MLK Jr’s assassination, LBJ was quoted as saying:

“What did you expect? I don’t know why we’re so surprised. When you put your foot on a man’s neck and hold him down for three hundred years, and then you let him up, what’s he going to do? He’s going to knock your block off.” (Wikipedia)

This time it was a knee, holding a man down for eight minutes and forty-six seconds.

It’s particularly telling that the (former) police officer’s name is Chauvin.

adjective adjective: chauvinist

What’s in a name, eh?
