Just for fun (?) I thought I’d do a Google images search with the phrase ‘Trump as Nero’ to see what came up. I should have known that lots of people would have made the connection between these two individuals, without a hint of reincarnation.

After Nero’s death in AD 68, there was a widespread belief, especially in the eastern provinces, that he was not dead and somehow would return. This belief came to be known as the Nero Redivivus Legend. The legend of Nero’s return lasted for hundreds of years after Nero’s death. Augustine of Hippo wrote of the legend as a popular belief in AD 422

Nobody expected that it would take almost 2,000 for him to return, this time as Donald J Trump, 45th President of the United States of America (the ‘new’ republic). And now we have a situation that some of his supporters think he can again rise from the spiritual ashes of his presidency, to do it all again.
