The House of the Spirits (1993)
On a whim, we started watching this film on Netflix last night. About halfway through we gave up the ghost. There were terrific actors and some interesting dialog, but the overall story was wooden and boring, to be honest, and our having to keep turning up the volume didn’t help.
I even took to reading the plot online, to see if there was anything worthwhile in it. I came across this:
A conspiracy between Conservative Party members and the military leads to a coup d’état, 11 de Septiembre, and the military seizes control of the country. Under military control, people associated with the People’s Party are captured and even killed.

What? There’s another 9/11? Hmm.

A Yod pointing at Saturn, formed by inconjuncts to Jupiter and Neptune hints at the fact that, although denied at the time, the CIA may have had a hand in the action (or, at least, condoned it). The real trigger was the Moon in opposition to the event Leo Ascendant, while also inconjunct to Pluto. It’s all connected by a T-square involving the Moon, Neptune and the Midheaven.
So, the story was based on the author’s relationship to the man that got overthrown by the coup d’etat: Salvador Allende. Well, well well: you learn something new every day.

Post Script:
If you thought that those two 9/11 events couldn’t possibly be connected over time, look again.
