Greenwich Prime Meridian (October 22, 1884)

Maybe it was originally only a suggestion by the International Meridian Conference, but it became the “real” prime meridian afterwards. Prior to that time, the UK had adopted the Greenwich Observatory as its 0° meridian. But, using satellite technology, the line is actually 102 meters east of its supposed line.

Interestingly, Neptune is inconjunct to Mercury, on the day, while Pluto is inconjunct the Sun/Midheaven conjunction at noon. Hmm. Makes me wonder if it was pushed through, anyway.

Centre of the Earth, eh?
