Which Way, José ?

In these times, modern morality seems to be more a personal compass than a general rule. I got to thinking about this question overnight after reviewing “Devil’s Den: the Reckoning’: we used to rely on the Bible for direction. Do we now? I think not.

Fine words, for sure, but who determines what ‘one’s moral conscience’ is? See what I mean?

Religion has failed modern man. When scrutiny of how the Gospels came to be, it is evident that they were later creations by writers who had nothing to do with the original disciples/apostles. In fact, only the Gospel of Thomas is considered to be an accurate collection of Jesus’ sayings. But then the question gets asked: did Jesus actually exist or is he a fiction to echo the legends and myths of the past?

Even the Second Coming, as told in “The Revelation of St. John”, is a 1st Century updating of eschatological writings from the Old Testament. And if the Romans had it written that way to ‘prove’ that Titus was Jesus reborn, then we are on shaky ground for sure.

Is there a cosmic clock ticking down to the end of humanity’s ‘rule’ of Earth? We seem to be very self-destructive, for whatever reason you can name. Is it a case of the inmates turning on the prison management to shake the very foundations of our ‘hard time on Planet Earth’? Is it coming to an end?

IF the US government in the 1950’s made an agreement with an alien species to trade human guinea pigs for advanced technology, the Universal Law about not interfering with a more primitive species would not be broken. In other words, through their agency, we have been experimented on. Will we pass inspection, physically? I doubt it.

The spiritual element of our being, since that is what all of this ‘stuff’ is leaning towards, is our only saving grace. This ‘game’ may prove to be a simulation, after all. When the computer is shut down, or unplugged, we will still exist, like Tron. We’re Users, not Programs.
