Sunflower
I caught a glimpse of an image on Facebook this morning which I’d never seen before. It was a closeup of the head of a sunflower which is made up of a series of five-petaled flowers developing over the growing season of the plant. How did I miss that?
Symbolically, this represents humanity both individually and collectively.
This other image from Facebook seems to show sunflowers at sunset, when, in fact, it must be sunrise, because the sunflowers are facing in the wrong direction: they always face the sun. Hmm, eh?

Perhaps, I’ve been a bit hasty: sunflowers return to east-facing at sunset.
