Traversing a Memory Bank

Readers of my posts will have noticed over the years that advertising catches my eye. Sometimes the image is so fleeting that if you blink, you’ll miss it.

Such is the latest Chevrolet Traverse ad featuring a hockey coach from Barrie, Ontario.

Did you see the image at 23 seconds in? The car is driving along a stretch of road which seems somehow familiar to me, but for the longest time I couldn’t exactly place it.

Yesterday, while discussing it with my wife, Susan, I twigged onto the fact that it was along Lakeshore Drive, at Victoria Street.

Here’s an aerial shot of the location.

Here’s a reverse view of the two high-rises.

I had to use street view on Google Maps to find the precise location, but at least it proved my memory was accurate.

What would I do without the Internet?
