Would I lie to you?
“For the record, I have no financial interests in Saudi Arabia (or Russia, for that matter). Any suggestion that I have is just more FAKE NEWS (of which there is plenty)!” (from a recent Trump tweet)
In yesterday’s newscast on CBS, Trump repeated this statement about having no financial interest in Saudi Arabia. The reason for his statement is the rumour that he is standing by the Kingdom, in spite of the killing of Jamal Khashoggi, because Trump has a vested interested in continuing to associate with them. That vested interest is obviously through his son-in-law, Jared Kushner.
(It reminds me of a criminal who claims that he didn’t do it, hiding behind the fact that his associate was the one who committed the crime. All one has to remember is who was pulling the strings, who was the boss.)
Trump’s addition of Russia in the tweet shows an unconscious need to confess his many ‘sins’. That, too, was perhaps not COLLUSION, per se, but a willingness to consult with the real ‘Enemy’ of the people for political gain.
“By their fruits, ye shall know them.” (Matthew 7:16)
Trump said it himself: this ‘is just more fake news…’
