Rural Ontario Detective on CTV

I wasn’t confident that this show would succeed on TV because of its story lines and its rural setting. I was wrong. CTV has renewed the show for two more seasons. That will make four altogether.

This is the opening sequence from the first show which aired in January 2017.

Note the starkness of the snow-covered terrain. It is so real. Not your usual Hallmark Christmas movie, that’s for sure. The second series was set in springtime, called the Black Fly season. No, Toto, we’re not in Kansas anymore, we’re in Central Ontario.

I won’t go into the story lines for the first two seasons because I don’t want an R-rating on my posts, but sufficient to say that they demonstrate some very dark deeds in the lives of some very screwed-up individuals.

What I would suggest is that if you have access to the video or online screening of the shows, please watch them, even if it’s only for the beauty of the countryside.
