Parody: The Band that Wasn’t and then Was

The Rutles

I’ll bet you’re wondering why I should be writing about this nonexistent group. Well, it’s simple, I was looking for some photos of the Beatles concert at Maple Leaf Gardens on August 17, 1966, and came across this image:

Right away, I could tell it’s not the Beatles, but when I looked at the date the photograph was taken, it was 50 years to the day that the Beatles played there. Then I twigged onto the thought: it’s the Rutles.

Literally, this is a cash grab, but full of nostalgic moments, and brilliant jokes. Long live the Rutles (and the Beatles).
