Requiem (continued)
OK. We have finished watching this series on Netflix, so I am now going to discuss some aspects of it.
The watching of Requiem may be timely, in some ways: the 15 year anniversary of the disappearance of Madeleine McCann is fast approaching. A suspect has finally been named by the Portuguese authorities, to keep the case alive (because of their statute of limitations). Madeleine was just turning four when she was abducted. The girl in this series was also very young when she disappeared.
But that’s not the real issue, here: the story is about a child being used by a group of individuals who were attempting to summon an archangel, using John Dee and Edward Kelley’s methods from the late 16th century. Evidently, the owner of the grand house where all this took place was a descendant of John Dee. And the clue, for me, was the hieroglyph on a marker in the garden, and other places nearby.
So, in some ways, this is personal.
And, as I have often stated on these posts, “Be careful what you ask for, you just might get it.”
