What Does an Appearance of God Look Like Astrologically?

Theophany of Philip K Dick (November 12, 1980)

The icon for a theophany is the famous one shown above, depicting the Dove hovering over Jesus’ head during his Baptism by John. Does it surprise anyone that PKD also had an appearance of God to him in 1980? The image on his book “Valis” recalls the dove-like image of Jesus on the Cross.

Now, the epiphany of February 3, 1974 began PKD’s Exegesis which culminated in a vision of Jesus on November 12, 1980. This is the chart for the event, randomized for ease of handling.

The Mars/Neptune conjunction in Sagittarius in the 12th House (of the Unconscious) may be the driving force of this event. At any rate, there are no inconjuncts, so all is revealed.

When PKD’s birth chart is compared with the event chart, the Uranus in Aries of his 1st House (of Personality) is opposite to the event’s Jupiter in Libra. That Jupiter/Saturn event conjunction (in Libra) also echoes back to the same configuration of the Star of Bethlehem in Jesus’ birth chart (in Pisces).

You may have noticed that I am using Jesus and God interchangeably here. The idea is that the Son is of the same nature as the Father and is symbolized by the third figure, the Holy Spirit: the Trinity at work.
