James Earl Carter, Jr (October 1, 1924 – December 29, 2024)
“Jimmy” Carter was a complicated man, according to one of his biographers. This may be true.

This birth chart was already on my computer program, so I think we can trust the timing. There are three inconjuncts.
Mars Inconjunct Midheaven
This aspect can mean that you have mixed feelings about all authority figures, including your parents. You may feel that you have to violate the rules laid down by your parents in order to get your way. This is a significant problem, because if it continues into adulthood, you will have great difficulties with employers. Therefore it is very important that your parents teach you how to express your self-assertive drives without going against their teachings. Unfortunately it is impossible to state how that should be done, because the conflict between self-will, on one hand, and self-denial and work, on the other, is different for each person.

Jupiter Inconjunct Pluto
You have a great deal of creative power, and the major challenge of your life will be learning how to handle it. First of all, you must realize that you will get the most out of life if you direct your energies toward helping the people around you and those you love. You will want to change many conditions in the world, which is fine as long as your reasons are not purely selfish ones.
Even at best you will get a certain amount of resistance from others, because they will feel your energy and be afraid of your motives. Unless you show them that your motives are good and that you can be reasoned with, you will run into opponents who are more powerful than you, who will stop you and make your efforts futile.

Uranus Inconjunct Neptune (1893-1896 and 1924-1927)
This aspect indicates changes in the world of the people who were born at these times, changes that were difficult to understand because they were very revolutionary but subtle in many ways. The people born during the first period experienced the consequences of these changes through having to fight in the First World War. The second group reached maturity at the time of the Great Depression. Both the First World War and the Depression were expressions of the breakdown of the nineteenth-century world order that was dominated by Western Europe.

Interestingly enough, the gas rationing of the late 1970’s created a Recession for the United States.

Carter died yesterday. I thought it might yield something interesting if I compared his birth and death charts. His ‘fatal’ Jupiter is in the opposite position of his natal Jupiter. The ‘fatal’ Mars is opposite to his ‘fatal’ Pluto. But the most interesting is the (almost) exact conjunction between Carter’s natal Mars and his ‘fatal’ Venus. Obviously his love for Rosalynn pulled him into joining her on the other side. Wow.

Rest in Peace, Mr. and Mrs. Carter.
