Mahatma Gandhi (October 2, 1869 – January 30, 1948)

I cannot think why I haven’t done Gandhi‘s birth chart until now. As always, the intention was there, but so many other things cropped up to distract my attention. However, I’m not the first to look at his chart.

This chart was already on my Kepler 7.0 program, with a time of 7:11 AM. Looking at some other astrology sites, their rectified time was 7:08:12 AM, but I wondered what exactly they were focused on. I chose his ‘venturing forth into the wider world as an innocent abroad’ @ age 18 (Neptune). That makes the time 7:25 AM and his Ascendant is now in the final degree of Libra. Neptune then figures strongly as the inconjunct to the Venus/Mars conjunction in the 1st House of Personality. The Venus/Mars conjunction is also in direct opposition to Jupiter/Pluto conjunction, all squared to the Moon. Hmm.
Moon Square Venus
You are so afraid of being disliked that you give in to others to avoid getting into a fight or making an enemy. By being very friendly and charming, you make others like you, but if you do this too much, you will not develop a very strong character. You tend to think that the more people like you, the better you are.
Moon Square Mars
On the positive side, you are an excellent fighter for anything you believe in. Just be careful not to become inflexible about your beliefs, because being wrong is not the worst thing in the world. And when you are justly right, you will strive and fight for what you believe in, with more inner conviction as well as more convincingly to others.
Moon Square Jupiter
This is a very positive aspect, but it can have some drawbacks. You are a very positive and cheerful person who likes others and is generally well like. Your high energy level makes people feel good in your presence and even cheers up those who are depressed. You feel good about yourself as well.
But you must learn to control yourself somewhat, for you tend to overdo whatever you get involved in, even to the point of physical exhaustion. This may affect your digestion, causing discomfort and irritation. Even when you are totally worn out by some activity, you may feel that you have to go on, so learn to relax.
Moon Square Pluto
This aspect means that your emotions are often so intense that you seem to be at their mercy. Your feelings even affect your behavior, causing you to act without thinking. The habits you learn early in life will be difficult to break, so it is important to form good habits now. You will also get so attached to places and persons that it will not be easy to break away from them.
Venus Inconjunct Neptune
This aspect means that your attitudes about love and affection are very idealistic, as will become clearer later in life. Also it can be a sign of creative artistic ability if there are other indications of creativity in your chart.
You are willing to serve, help and assist those you love, but you may honestly feel that you don’t deserve to be loved unless you are forced to serve your loved one in some way. This is because you feel that loving someone requires you to make sacrifices and to deny your own needs and that love may not necessarily make you feel good and warm.
Mars Inconjunct Neptune
With this aspect you must learn to stand up for yourself and demand your rights forthrightly and directly. Often you feel that you don’t have enough energy to assert yourself or that any such effort would be futile.
Sometimes this aspect operates on the physical plane as well. You may have a generally low energy level and feel tired all the time but not able to sleep because of nervousness. You may actually need more sleep than others, and if so, you should try to get it. This aspect may also indicate that you tend to have allergies and infections.
Venus Conjunct Mars
Sometimes you may be unsure whether to assert yourself, give way to the other person’s demands, or compromise, although that can be the most difficult choice of the three.
Venus Opposition Jupiter
The only thing that stands between you and total success in life is the need to be more disciplined and restrained. You have the ability to handle people well, if you choose, and you can make yourself liked. But if you waste your time now, you will regret it when you are older. It is your nature to enjoy doing things on a grand scale, but make sure you really have the means to carry out your plans.
Venus Opposition Pluto
Your close, emotional relationships with others may be difficult at times unless you make an effort to do the following. First of all, make sure that you don’t try to hold on to your friends too tightly. Let them do what they want when you are together and allow them to have other friends as well. Sometimes you feel threatened if a friend shows more attention to another than to yourself.
Mars Opposition Jupiter
This is a very positive aspect, signifying a great deal of energy and a buoyant, optimistic enthusiasm that attracts others. However, you may have some difficulty getting along with people when you are expected to work cooperatively, because you are naturally competitive rather than cooperative. Your competitiveness is not nasty or abrasive; you simply enjoy a good, spirited contest.
Mars Opposition Pluto
As you get older, you will become very ambitious, and you must make a great effort not to become ruthless. Always maintain high ethical standards, for otherwise you could create powerful enemies who will frustrate your plans, no mater how good your intentions are. And it must be said that even if you act honorably, this aspect sometimes signifies serious conflicts with others that you seem to have no part in causing. But acting morally and responsibly should minimize this.
Jupiter Conjunct Pluto
You have a strong drive to achieve something of significance, and you want to have the power to make positive and creative changes in your world.
Conclusion
Now, can you see why the only path Gandhi could take was nonviolent resistance? Otherwise, he would have failed in his quest to free India from British rule.
Love is all you need…
