Jordan Peterson (June 12, 1962)

To be totally frank, I have only heard the name Jordan Peterson in passing. Last night, Susan’s grandson, Jacob, was explaining to me some of the ideas that this man has presented on YouTube. The example Jacob used was on the gender disparity of wages in the workplace. I won’t expound on the theory here, but it kind of ‘ticked the boxes’ of my own thinking. So, I knew I had to have an astrological look, today.

The timing of this birth chart is considered AA by Rodden, as the original collector of the data obtained a copy of Peterson’s birth certificate. So, I think we can relay upon its accuracy. The first thing to note is the fact that he has Taurus Rising. That alone can make him appear conservative, even though he describes himself politically as “classic British liberal“. The rest of the chart confirms this.

While you are young, you will find it difficult to decide what to do with your life. The demands of the world may sometimes be hard to handle, because they don’t seem to take advantage of your natural abilities and instincts. Also, much of your time will be taken up with learning routine skills that do not seem at first to have much connection with reality. But don’t try to rush your life. Even if you can’t see why you should learn a skill, try it out anyway. Later on, its purpose may become clear.

This aspect usually means that your need for emotional security conflicts with your need to live with the world’s demands. Each of us needs to be accepted and loved for what we are, in order to have enough self-confidence to deal with the world. But we also have to learn to live with our own life situations in order to survive. In other words, we have to realize that we can’t have everything we want. With this aspect, these two needs are working against each other. Probably you will satisfy one of them at the expense of the other.

Your mind moves quickly from topic to topic, often without pausing long enough for you to understand what you have learned. And if there is a lot of excitement or activity around, your mind may race so fast to keep up with it all that you work yourself into a state of nervous frenzy. Under these circumstances it is almost impossible for you to concentrate or do any useful mental work.
On the other hand, you are quite inventive. You can see solutions to problems quicker than most, and you may be good at designing. In school you may excel at mathematics and science, as long as you can learn to sit still long enough to learn the subject.
This aspect might mean that you have nervous problems, such as a tendency to get exhausted or a sensitive disposition that requires a very calm environment in order to prevent further problems.

I particularly appreciate Jordan’s translation of ‘the meek’ in this video. It starts when he says the following:

In other words, a peaceful warrior…
The Last Words are His

Amen.
