Social Media Posts are Revisiting Our Former Heroes

Revisionist History

It’s a trend that I’m beginning to notice on MSM: we are being bombarded with stories that paint historical figures and pop idols in less flattering terms. In other words, we being told a more ‘hidden’ version of events and personalities than what we originally believed them to be. Why is that?

Given that we may have been told a bunch of lies over the years, for whatever reason, this doesn’t make sense that we now are being told the unvarnished truth. How do we know this isn’t just another series of stories to make us more malleable to the present environment of “fake news”? And how can we determine fact from fiction?

It comes down to the prevailing winds of change, I guess. Just make sure you are wearing your s**t-detector hat when you come across something ‘different’: don’t buy into everything you read and see.
