When the Levee Broke…

My 7-Day Fever Rash

About two weeks ago, I was bitten twice by some bug. I didn’t see which bug it was, but it wasn’t done by a simple mosquito, more likely a spider. The spots were very itchy, and it took almost all of my willpower to not scratch them. Finally, I couldn’t stand it anymore, and gave into the urge. This was almost a week later. The heads of the bite spots seemed inflamed. And the next day a rash started to spread across my body, in the position of my liver. It looked like my right hand had ‘placed’ the rash upon my body. It was the same size and shape.

For a week, I tolerated the increasing itchiness of the rash, using, first, “After Bite”, then wet wipes and finally baby lotion. Nothing was helping to relieve the rash, nor was it going away on its own.

At midnight, I’d reached the end of my tether. I got up and scratched and scratched until it felt better.

Here’s the event chart.

This morning, the worst of the rash is gone, but it is now covered with scaly skin. Hopefully, it will now fade away and completely heal.
